Joseph S. Sommer Jr., 48, of Northampton, died May 25, 2016. He was the husband of Alison L. (Thomas) Sommer for 24 years.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Joseph Sommer Sr. and the late Helen (Yandersits) Sommer.

He was a project manager and worked for 30 years at H.T. Lyons Company, Allentown.

He was a 1985 graduate of Northampton High School.

He was the head coach for Northampton Athletic Association Elementary Wrestlers, a vice-president of N.A.W.C. and a former board member of Valley Elementary Wrestling League.

He was a member of Local Union 420 Steamfitters, Philadelphia, and Tri-Boro Sportsmen Club, Northampton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Austin J. of Northampton; a brother, Michael D. and his wife Mandy Sommer of Northampton; a sister, Danielle M. and her husband Daniel Roland of Danielsville; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by a son, Brandon M. Sommer.
