FAA approves

LCCC

The Lehigh Carbon Community College (LCCC) aviation program has been approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a Part 141 Flight School, in addition to its existing status as a ground school.

The college is able to provide not only the ground instruction required to earn various pilot ratings (or certificates), but also is able to provide the flight-training component.

Each student who completes the program will earn a commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating and a certified flight instructor certificate along with an associate degree as a professional pilot. With these certificates, graduates can be employed as a flight instructor, charter pilot or corporate pilot. They can also transfer to go on to earn a bachelor’s degree in aviation science.

For information on LCCC’s aviation program, located at Lehigh Valley International Airport, contact Aram Basmadjian, chief flight instructor, at abasmadjian@lccc.edu.
