Conservation district awarded money to present rain barrel workshop

Lehigh County Conservation District has received $2,000 to offer a rain barrel workshop for one to two townships in the county.

“This grant allows our conservation district to address local pollution issues,” said Erich Schramm, environmental educator.

“We plan to educate local residents on how they can do their part to ensure there is enough clean water for future generations.”

Education and outreach about the project is expected to begin January 2017. Project work is expected to begin no later than March 2017.

The rain barrel workshop will be offered in April 2017 with completion of the project by May 2017.

Twenty-eight projects will be funded in 24 of the state’s counties.

Projects include agricultural field days, rain barrel workshops, stormwater tours and more.
