Emmaus Lioness Lions Club hold successful basket raffle

For 18 years, the Emmaus Lioness Lions Club has hosted a basket raffle to fund a variety of charities icluding the East Penn Angel Network, scholarships, vision charities and community events.

This year, the raffle was held at Faith Church, 6528 Hamilton Blvd., Allentown with over 365 tickets sold for the 111 baskets available. All items in these baskets were donated by members.

In addition, 45 special baskets were available for raffle as well as 86 door prizes – all items were donated by area businesses.

The club was also collecting for the food bank at Bethany Church – all attendees who brought a can of food received an extra ticket. Last year, 262 cans of food were collected.

The 42 members of the Emmaus Lioness Lions Club begin working on the basket raffle in January.

Many of the attendees enjoyed dinner before the raffle began by purchasing turkey or hamburger barbecue, hot dogs, cabbage and noodles, macaroni salad and a variety of baked goods and beverages.
