State Police Beat

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say Jason Floyd Siegmund reported an attempt was made between April 3-6 to open storm window louvers to gain entry to his home in the 3200 block of High Hill Road, Washington Township.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact police at 610-861-2026.

Robert R. Oxford, 66, of New Tripoli was driving his vehicle 10:20 p.m. April 5 when it hit a utility pole on Bausch Road, Lynn Township, say State Police Troop M Fogelsville.

According to police, Oxford was leaving a parking stall, when his vehicle crossed over Bausch Road.

Oxford apparently failed to control his vehicle at the intersection of Bausch and Schochary roads, causing it to exit Bausch Road at Schochary Road on the north side of Bausch Road.

The vehicle then struck a utility pole before overturning onto its left side, police say.

The vehicle then came to a final rest near the pole at the intersection of Bausch and Schochary roads.

Oxford, who police say was not wearing a seat belt was transported by Cetronia Ambulance Corps to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

Police allege Oxford was driving under the influence.

He was charged with a traffic violation and DUI charges were filed against Oxford before District Judge Rod Beck, Slatington.
