Churches team up to walk for the hungry and homeless May 14
St. Peter’s Union Church will team with Huff’s Church in a walk for the hungry and homeless May 14. The 5- and 10-mile walks will begin 8 a.m. at St. Peter’s; the three-mile walk will start 10 a.m. at Huff’s. St. Peter’s is offering Life Line Screening at the church May 17. Five screenings are offered: carotid artery/plaque screening; heart rhythm screening, abdominal aortic aneurysm screening, peripheral arterial disease screening and osteoporosis risk assessment. Enjoy Springfest 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 7 at Salem United Methodist Church, 6440 Powder Valley Road, Zionsville. Lunch will be available, as well as baked goods, flea market items and flowers to plant. It will be held rain or shine in the enclosed pavilion. For more information, call 610-965-6796.
The Upper Milford Historical Society will meet 7 p.m. May 26 in the township building. Township Manager Dan DeLong will present a photo journey of his trips to Alaska with students from 2009 to 2015.
St. Peter’s is joining Zion’s Lutheran Church and other churches in Old Zionsville to sponsor a vacation Bible school June 20 to 24. Classes run 9 to 11:30 a.m. each day. Registration forms are available in the narthex or by calling the church office.

The Upper Milford Fire Company’s ladies auxiliary meets 7 p.m. June 6. New members are always welcome.

Upper Milford supervisors will meet 7 p.m. May 5 and 19.
The Emmaus-Upper Milford Joint Environmental Advisory Council meets 7 p.m. May 23 in Upper Milford.
The open space committee meets 7:30 p.m. May 11. The committee had a good turnout for its special joint meeting with supervisors in April to discuss the future of open space and farmland preservation in the township. There was substantial support for the idea of a small tax increase to help preserve open space.
The Upper Milford Zoning Hearing Board will meet 7:30 p.m. May 9. There are two hearings on the agenda, one from Allentown residents seeking a variance to construct a detached garage on vacant land at 4803 Chestnut St. and one from a couple seeking a variance to add on to a detached workshop on their Columbus Drive property.
The Upper Milford Planning Commission meets 7:30 p.m. May 30.
The recreation commission meets 7:30 p.m. May 16.
Don’t forget: the Lower Milford Township board of supervisors regular meetings now are held the third Wednesday of each month, 7:30 p.m. in the township building. This month’s meeting is May 18.
