Laurys Station Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 recently held its 2016 fire company elections.
Charles Eckhart was elected president and Jared Farkas was chosen vice president.
Robin Hood will serve as recording secretary and Marie Hood was named the financial secretary. Eric Minford was elected treasurer.
Roderick Lowe will serve as chaplain, and Dale French, Dale Remaley and Charles Wechsler were named trustees.
Also announced were the fire line officers: Robin Hood, chief; Kevin Remaley, first assistant chief; Chris Greb, second assistant chief; Matt Desch, lieutenant; and John Bull, fire police captain.
Staff positions include: Eric Minford, safety; Matt Desch, training; Dale French, truck engineer; and Marie Hood, photographer.
Logan Noll was named 2015 Firefighter of the Year, and Jake Hart was named 2015 Junior Firefighter of the Year.
Zach Bath received the Chief’s Award, and Robin Hood received the Spirit Award.
Also, with great pride, Charles Wechsler was presented with the 50-year Service Award Axe.
He held the rank of assistant chief, captain, office of vice president and a trustee for 30 years.
Fire company business meetings are 8 p.m. the second Wednesday of every month.
Fire team training takes place 6:30 p.m. every Monday.
