Allentown JCC has annual phone-a-thon campaign

The Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley recently had its annual Super Sunday Phone-A-Thon at the Jewish Community Center, Allentown.

The event brings together more than 100 volunteers who collectively make over 1,000 calls, raising money for the community.

A day for giving, the volunteers represent all areas of the Lehigh Valley Jewish community working together to raise funds for the 2016 Campaign for Jewish Needs.

Brian Ford, co-chair of the campaign, discussed the fundraiser.

“The annual campaign is our biggest pledge drive of the year,” Ford said.

The Jewish Federation of the Lehigh Valley is part of the Jewish Federation movement, the leading Jewish philanthropy in North America.

The organization works with its donors to make the community a better place with local programs such as the Jewish Day Center as well as the ability to mobilize support of national and worldwide efforts.

At the JCC, volunteers from every walk of life, from college students to government officials, came with cell phone in hand, prepared to make their calls.
