Officer Jason Harrison has joined the Salisbury Township Police Department. His first day of training was April 11.
Harrison, of Lansford, graduated from Panther Valley High School. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from West Chester University and attended Delaware County Police Academy, graduating in 2015.
Following graduation from the police academy, Harrison worked in Summit Hill as a police officer as well as in Jim Thorpe.
When an opportunity opened up in the Salisbury Township Police Department, Harrison jumped at the chance.
“I heard good things about the department and Salisbury Township from people who worked here,” Harrison said.
Harrison plans to make a move closer to the police department.
His plan is to reach out to the community, especially with some of the negativity surrounding law enforcement.
“Just from my time here, it has been nothing but a positive experience,” Harrison said.
“Everyone here has been very welcoming. I hope I’ll be a good fit and have an easy transition.”
Harrison’s hobbies include four wheeling, hunting, fishing and working out at the gym.
