Two seek GOP nod in 183rd District

Two Republican candidates are vying for the seat in the 183rd Legislative District now held by Julie Harhart, who is retiring.

The names of Cindy Miller and Zach Mako will appear on the April 26 primary election ballot. Voters will choose one.

The Press sent the following question to the Republican candidates and asked for a response:

What do you think is the primary concern of your constituents? Neither candidate responded.

The winner will face Democrat Phillips Armstrong, who is running unopposed in the primary election.

In Lehigh County, the district covers parts of Whitehall, Washington and South Whitehall townships and Slatington.

In Northampton County, the 183rd includes North Catasauqua, Walnutport, Northampton, Lehigh and Allen townships and parts of Moore Township.
