Many of the races in next Tuesday’s primary election are uncontested, meaning the candidate is not facing a challenger from his or her political party and/or the opposing party.

As Pennsylvania’s primary is closed, only registered party members can vote for the candidate in his or her own party.

The candidate’s name will again be on the Nov. 8 ballot, along with the name of the candidate from the opposing party, if there is one.

15th Congressional District

The names of two candidates, Democratic Rick Daugherty and Republican incumbent Charles W. Dent, are on the ballot for congressman in the 15th Legislative District in the April 26 primary.

132nd Legislative District

The name of Republican Ben Long will be on his party’s ballot in next Tuesday’s primary for state representative in the 132nd Legislative District.

Incumbent state Rep. Mike Schlossberg, a Democrat, will be listed on his party’s side of the ticket.

The 132nd Legislative District includes: Allentown’s Ward 6-2; Wards 8-3, 8-4, 8-5, 8-6 and 8-7; Wards 10-3 and 10-4; Wards 11-3, 11-4, 11-5, 11-6 and 11-7; Wards 13-1, 13-2, 13-3 and 13-4; Ward 14-1; Wards 15-1, 15-2, 15-3 and 15-4; Ward 17 (1, 2, 3, 4, 4P); and Wards 18 (1, 2, 2P) and in South Whitehall, Wards 1, 2 and 7.

134th Legislative District

There are no candidates on the Democrat side of the ticket and no Republican challengers for the seat now held by Republican incumbent Ryan Mackenzie in the 134th Legislative District.

This district includes Hereford, Longswamp, Richmond and Rockland townships, and Topton borough in Berks County; and Alburtis and Macungie boroughs; and Lower Macungie, Salisbury (Wards 4 and 5) and South Whitehall (Districts 3 and 4) townships in Lehigh County.

187th Legislative District

Republican incumbent state Rep. Gary Day is unchallenged in the April 26 primary for his seat in the 187th Legislative District.

The 187th includes Kutztown, Lyons and Maxatawny Township in Berks County and the townships of Heidelberg, Lowhill, Lynn, North Whitehall, Upper Macungie and Weisenberg townships in Lehigh County.
