A community forum on heroin and substance abuse prevention for residents of East Penn will be held 6:30 p.m. April 20 in the Emmaus High School Auditorium.

A panel, which includes county administrators, local law enforcement, treatment providers, medical personnel, and parents, will attend to discuss the growing substance abuse problem in communities in the district.

The East Penn Community Forum on Drug Awareness is designed specifically for parents and family members of high school and middle school students. It will include information about recent drug trends including prescription drug abuse as a gateway to heroin use.

Event sponsors include Lehigh County Drug & Alcohol Abuse Services and the Center for Humanistic Change.
