Candlelight vigil on April 14

Crime victims

Crime Victims Council of the Lehigh Valley’s annual Victims’ Rights Vigil will take place 6 p.m. April 14 at the Memorial Tree of Life Grove, 3256 Chestnut Drive, South Whitehall. Rain date is 6 p.m. April 19.

Crime Victims Council will commemorate the theme, “Serving victims, building trust, restoring hope,” by remembering and honoring crime victims.

The annual Allied Professional Awards for Lehigh and Northampton counties will be presented to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to victims’ services.

This free event is open to the public.

Survivors will speak about how their lives have been impacted by crime, and a bell ceremony will take place in memory of loved ones taken from their families by violence.

CVC provides a 24-hour hotline, accompaniment at area hospitals and at court proceedings, individual and group counseling, help with filing for Pennsylvania Victims Compensation, prevention education programs for schools and community groups, and training for professionals.
