Q: What grade are you in?

A: I’m in the 12th grade at Emmaus High School.

Q: What is your favorite subject? Why?

A: My favorite subject is English because I love writing and reading stories to find their deeper meanings. I also enjoy my economics class this year because I’m learning this subject is about decision-making and not just money like I initially thought.

Q: Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A: I have earned Principal’s Honor Roll throughout high school and am a National Merit Commended Scholar. I’ve also earned Excellence in English, 11 Honors and Excellence in Latin 2. I was also a finalist for a National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences award for a documentary I made about stage crew.

Q: Are you involved in any extracurricular activities?

A: I am a scriptwriter and anchor for ETV, the morning announcement program for the high school. I am also a sound crew head for the fall shows and spring musicals, a historian for the drama department, secretary for National Honor Society and a Hornet Ambassador.

Q: What is your next goal after high school?

A: I’m going to attend college to major in film and screenwriting.

Q: What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A: I think time management has been difficult because there are so many opportunities at the high school and in the community to get involved that I can overextend myself. When I’m tired and cranky from trying to do too much, I don’t enjoy anything.

Q: What do you want to be remembered for?

A: I want to be remembered for being a kind, hardworking and creative person. I also want to be remembered for making the poster for “Once Upon a Mattress” this year and for my amazing, yet random emojis in the ETV tweets (@ETV_Studio).

Q: Who is in your family?

A: My mom Sue, my dad Jim, and my sister Jess make up my immediate family, but I can’t forget about my turtles Sunni and Moony and Beta fish Calliope and Kirby.

Q: Do you have someone you look up to?

A: I look up to both of my parents. My mom took a leap of faith when she went into computer programming because much wasn’t known about it, but she was successful with it. My dad is also an extremely hard worker with everything he does. They both inspire me.

Q: Do you have any advice for your peers?

A: Be nice to people. No one really wants to be awake at 7 a.m., you’re not the only one. It will make high school a million times better for you and those around you if you just make an effort to be kind, even if you’re having a rough day.
