Police clear LCTI after bomb threats

Students and staff were evacuated around 9 a.m. March 17 after two school administrators received various bomb threats at Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, 4500 Education Drive, North Whitehall Township.

State Police Troop M Bethlehem say all students were evacuated from the LCTI campus to Lehigh Carbon Community College as school protocol.

All staff and students were accounted for, a perimeter was established and the area was secured, police say.

Police say after LCTI facility manager and campus police and state police made entry into the building, all lockers, hallways and subsequent classrooms were searched, with negative results.

The building was deemed safe and clear and staff members were allowed to re-enter the facility, police say.

This incident is ongoing pending further investigation.
