KUTZTOWN UNIVERSITY Author Abagnale to visit
Frank Abagnale, author of “Catch Me If You Can,” is coming to Kutztown University to speak on security challenges and tactics for safeguarding information.
Hosted by the Association of Campus Events, this event will be held 7 p.m. April 6 in Schaeffer Auditorium.
In his best-selling book, “Catch Me If You Can,” Abagnale reveals his past life of serving time in French, Swedish and U.S. prisons and his release after five years on the contingency he help the federal government by teaching and assisting federal law enforcement agencies. His knowledge and expertise gives him the respect as one of the world’s authorities on forgery, embezzlement and secure documents. He has now worked for over 40 years as an advisor and consultant to hundreds of financial institutes, corporations and government agencies around the world.
Abagnale has more than 14,000 institutions, corporations and law enforcement agencies use his fraud prevention programs. His success has led to being selected as the spokesperson for the National Association of Insurance Commissioners and the National Cyber Security Alliance. In 1998 he was selected as a distinguished member of “Pinnacle 400”, a select group of 400 people who have demonstrated great success in their fields.
Abagnale’s book later became the movie of the same name released in 2002 and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hanks. Screenings of the movie will be held in the Alumni Auditorium 4 p.m. March 25 and April 1.
