Speaker at LEPOCO 50th annual dinner

Ann Wright, Army Colonel, retired, retired diplomat, peace activist, lecturer and author will present a talk, “Peace Conversions: From Lies to Truth; From War to Peace; From Understanding to Action,” at the annual dinner celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Lehigh-Pocono Committee of Concern, March 12, Wesley United Methodist Church, 2540 Center St., Bethlehem.

The dinner will feature two displays: a slide show of LEPOCO members and activities over the years and a display of 33 posters from LEPOCO’s 50th Anniversary Poster Contest, “Picture a World Without Violence,” in which local high school students participated.

A vegetarian dinner will be served with Pasta Rafael, Green Beans with Smoky Pistachio Dust and Aniseed Carrots.

The program includes election of LEPOCO Steering Committee members and music by the LEPOCO Peace Singers.

Janet Ney of Allentown convenes the dinner planning committee. Steve Kraft of Bethlehem leads the preparation of the vegetarian feast.

Doors open at 5 p.m. for music and appetizers. Those attending the program only should arrive at 6:15 p.m.
