Wun “The Shot” Versher visits Harry S Truman Elementary School

In a special February promotion, CAT Country 96 invited listeners to submit a picture of their son or daughter “getting fit.” The winner would receive VIP seats to the Harlem Globetrotters event at the PPL Center March 2 and an anti-bullying assembly at their school.

The winner was Cassandra Daw, a student at Harry S Truman Elementary School.

Students in third grade attended the assembly Feb. 24 entitled, “The ABCs of Bullying Prevention,” designed by the Globetrotters in coordination with the National Campaign to Stop Violence. The program focuses on action, bravery and compassion– comprising the ABCs.

The program was presented by Harlem Globetrotter Wun “The Shot” Versher discussing the three key words and providing tools kids can use on a daily basis to reduce bullying. The Globetrotters equate what it means to be a part of a team and encouraged the students to support one another and help stop bullying.

Versher also showed his signature moves of handling the basketball throughout the assembly, introducing humor into the program.
