Mr. and Mrs. Barry Sudduth of Central, S.C., announce the engagement of their daughter Emily Ann Sudduth, to Michael Brian Kern, son of Mr. and Mrs. Brian Kern of Schnecksville, North Whitehall Township.

The bride-elect received a degree in health science from Clemson University in 2015. She is an assessment coordinator for Lewdergroup, Greenville, S.C.

Her fiance is a 2012 graduate of Parkland High School.

He is to graduate in May with a degree in accounting and finance from West Chester University.

He has been offered employment as a tax accountant with Ernst & Young, Greenville, S.C.

The couple met in Botswana, Africa, while on a mission trip.

A June wedding is being planned.
