Jillian Zarnas, faculty advisor of the Emmaus High School Interact Club, was recognized recently by the Emmaus Rotary Club as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Zarnas was honored with this award for the work she has done for the EHS Interact Club and the Emmaus Rotary Club.
“Jillian embodies the Rotary motto, ‘Service Above Self’ and instills it into the Interact Club members at Emmaus High School with every meeting, event and activity she facilitates,” Paul Harris Fellow and Rotarian Lawrence R. Delhagen Jr. said.
In recognition of this award, the Emmaus Rotary Club made a contribution of $1,000, in Zarnas’s name, to the Rotary Foundation which will be used to further the many missions of Rotary, including the worldwide eradication of polio, the purchase and staging of shelter boxes and a myriad of other global initiatives designed to foster international goodwill.
Named after Rotary’s founder, the Paul Harris Society recognizes Rotary members and friends of The Rotary Foundation who contribute $1,000 or more each year to the annual fund, PolioPlus, or approved global grants. The purpose of the Paul Harris Society is to honor and thank individuals for their generosity of annual support to The Rotary Foundation.
“Thank you each personally and thank you to the ERC for such an honor (and a surprise),” Zarnas said following the presentation.
“It’s been a challenging, rewarding and heartwarming decade serving as the Interact coordinator and working closely with ERC and its upstanding, welcoming members.”
