Q. What grade are you currently in?
A. I am currently a senior at Salisbury High School.
Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?
A. My favorite subject is physics because I enjoy learning about science.
Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?
A. I am an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Dwight D. Eisenhower award from the West Point Society. I am also a member of National Honor Society and a recipient of a scholarship from the Sons of the American Revolution.
Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?
A. Throughout high school, I have participated in football and I was on the power lifting team. Currently, I am a peer tutor, a member of National Honor Society and an Eagle Scout. I still attempt to stay involved with Boy Scouts and I work at the Active Learning Center. I was also a supervisor at Dorney Park.
Q. What is your next goal after high school?
A. I plan on attending Millersville University to major in middle level education with a concentration in science.
Q. What would you say your biggest challenge was so far?
A. My biggest challenge was planning, raising funds and executing my Eagle Scout project. At Asbury United Methodist Church, I created landscaping around a prayer labyrinth. The landscaping included constructing and installing a wooden bench, a pad made of pavers at the entrance and a mulch bed with 30 shrubs. I also had to extend an existing mulch bed and plant a Japanese maple inside of that bed.
Q. What do you want to be remembered for?
A. I want to be remembered for my exceptional work ethic.
Q. Who is in your family?
A. Members of my family include: my mother, Kelli, my father, Todd and my brother, Gavin.
Q. Do you have someone you look up to?
A. There are two people who inspire me as a future educator– Mr. Matt Somishka and Miss Susan Quigg because they are passionate about their mission to educate young people. These educators also treat their students with respect.
Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?
A. Remember to always be yourself. Sometimes the right path is not always the easiest path.
