Farmers Care, formerly known as Food Check-Out Day continues to support two Philadelphia Ronald McDonald Houses with food and monetary donations to fill their pantries.
Lehigh, Bucks, Northampton/Monroe, Berks, Montgomery and Chester/Delaware County farm bureaus collected more than $18,700 this year for the houses that help families traveling far from home and spending weeks or months to get treatment for their seriously ill or injured child.
A Ronald McDonald “home-away-from-home” serves families so they can stay close by their hospitalized child at little cost or for free.
The county farm bureaus were also recognized with a 2016 “Adopt A Room” award for their continued support to the Ronald McDonald House.
