Dr. Michael H. Pengelly

Lt. Col. (Ret.) Dr. Michael H. Pengelly, Au.D., 67, of Center Valley, died Feb. 16, 2016, in his home. He was the husband of Mary-Ellen McHugh-Pengelly. They celebrated 42 years of marriage Aug. 3. 2015. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Albert and Dorothy (Myers) Pengelly.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Emmaus.

He was a graduate of East Stroudsburg University, earned his master’s degree from Bloomsburg University in audiology and received his Doctorate in Audiology from A.T. Still University in Arizona.

He was a Naval Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and continued his military service in the Army after graduating from college, retiring as Lieutenant Colonel.

He was the owner and operator of Dr. Michael H. Pengelly Audiology in Allentown, previously known as Acousticare in Center Valley.

He enjoyed hunting, biking and was an avid traveler and history buff.

He is survived by his wife; son, Brian McHugh, of Center Valley; brother, David; two sisters.
