Upper Macungie, library offering events for kids, adults

Upper Macungie Township has partnered with Kay McLane Design to offer home decorating Part I Tuesdays 6-8 p.m. March 1-22.

A home organization crash course is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. on March 29.

The township is also offering a night with psychic Laurie Moore 7-8:30 p.m. March 3 and a hunter/trapper safety course will be presented 9 a.m.-4 p.m. March 6.

Course materials include student manual, exam, patches and certification cards and current Hunter/Trapper Digest.

All participants must be 12 years old or older to attend and need to pass the course to obtain a Pennsylvania state hunting license.

All events will take place at Independent Park Community Center, 150 Independent Road, Breinigsville.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall, is offering toddler story time with stories, songs and games for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers 10:30 a.m. Feb. 18.

Drop-In storytime with stories, songs and games for families with children of all ages will be 10:30 a.m. Feb. 19.

Join the library’s writing workshop “What’s Your Story” 3 p.m. Feb. 23.

This workshop is designed to help writers learn how to do memoirs.

The library is hosting its LEGOS Club 5 p.m. Feb. 23 for kids in grades one and higher.

Create anything from the library’s LEGOS collection.

The Joy of Coloring class will be 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 and 3 p.m. Feb. 24.

The library will provide the coloring pages and pencils.

Knitters of all ages and skill levels are welcome to bring knitting supplies and swap knitting tips and tricks with the library’s Knitting Circle 2-4 p.m. Feb. 25.

Kids in grades four through seven are invited to join the library staff for a discussion of its first book club titled “The Westing Game” and munch on brunch treats 10:30 a.m. Feb. 27.

All these events are free and will take place in the library.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, Wednesday evening Lenten services will be Feb. 24 and March 2, 9, 16 and 23.

Each service will begin with a soup meal at 6 p.m., followed by watching NOOMA videos and discussion.
