Approximately 150 guests attended the third annual Chinese New Year Celebration Feb. 6 at the Green Pond Country Club in Bethlehem Township.
The New Oasis International Education Association hosted the event for 45 high school Chinese students in the area and their host families.
A lengthy program of traditional Chinese entertainment performed by the students, various games, host family photos and a Chinese buffet highlighted the evening.
“The event is designed to help Chinese high school students in the Lehigh Valley feel at home, while allowing American students and the host families to experience a new culture,” according to New Oasis spokesperson Mike Atkinson.
Chinese New Year celebration hosts Frank Yanyi Jiao, of Bethlehem Catholic High School and Candace Yuanting Cheng, of Allentown Central Catholic High School, share the podium during the event at the Green Pond Country Club.
