State police beat

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say loose change was stolen sometime between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Feb. 4 from a home in the 7700 block of Dresher Road, Lynn Township.

A goldor tan SUV with two men inside was seen in the area during the time of the crime, police say.

State Police Troop M Fogelsville say a 73-year-old female resident of Lynn Township reported a window was pried open and her home was burglarized at 12:31 p.m. Feb. 4 in the 6100 block of Donats Peak Road, Lynn Township.

According to police, the suspects rummaged through multiple dresser drawers, closets and cabinets searching for items of value before leaving.

Police say at this point in the investigation, the total of amount stolen from the home has yet to be determined.

Police say a suspicious light-colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Cherokee, was seen driving through the area.

Forensic Services Unit responded to the scene and recovered numerous shoe impressions in the wet snow.

Charlene S. Flowers, 64, of Breinigsville, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi Diamante when it struck a 2000 Chevrolet Malibu driven by a 17-year-old male from Orefield at 4:14 p.m. on Jan. 4 along Route 100, Lowhill Township, say State Police Troop M Fogelsville.

According to police, the Chevrolet was stopped at the intersection of Route 100 and Kistler Road, when the Mitsubishi traveling southbound on Route 100 approached the intersection.

Police say the Mitsubishi continued to travel southbound, when Flowers was unable to stop.

The car struck the rear of the Chevrolet with its front bumper.

The Mitsubishi came to final rest just past the intersection in the southbound lane.

The Chevrolet came to final rest in the southbound lane approximately 50 to 75 feet past the intersection.

The teen, who was wearing his seat belt, was uninjured, police say.

Flowers, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by Cetronia Ambulance Corps to Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.

She was charged with driving at an unsafe speed.
