Kindergarten students answer questions about school board members

In a video produced by the high school media class under the direction of Kelly Wetherhold, kindergarten students were asked the following questions about school board members. The video was produced in recognition of school board directors appreciation month. School board members were encouraged to listen for words of wisdom from the youngest generation of the school district.

Q. How many times do school board members meet in one month?

A. Students responded with the following answers: 10, 11, 13, 100, 190, 89, 100, 50,000, 85, 5, one, 200 and 800 times a month.

Q. How much should school board members be paid?

A. Answers included $70, $6, $1 million, $90 hundred, 20 cents, $109, $25, $200 and $200,000.

Q. School board members are awesome because...?

A. Students said because they can teach, they can ask a partner to cut the grass for them, cool videos on them, they make you smart and great, they make you love them and learn a lot of things, they are just awesome, it makes you a good person.

Q. If you could give the vice president of the school board one thing that you think would help your school, what would it be?

A. Answers included money, homework, a playground, toys, a party, someone to work with, tell the students to walk not run, ice cream, a puppy, Barbie books and dino bones to put together to make a museum.

Q. What does the school board treasurer do?

A. Puts money in a hat, puts money in your pocket, cleans up the trash outside, plays sports and clears the road.

Q. What is a school board president supposed to do?

A. Make sure everyone is doing the right thing, take videos, clean the floors, roast marshmallows, work and clean the desks.

Q. Who do you think the school board should allow to work at Salisbury?

A. Teachers was the most popular answer.

Q. What is a budget cap?

A. A credit card, a cap for a girl, a cap, a big fat cat, a skinny cat and a really tiny bottle cap.

Q. What do school board members eat for their snacks?

A. Answers included apples, peanut butter and jelly, pears, cookies, bananas, blackberries, strawberries, cereal, popcorn and fish.

Q. What does a school board do when they meet?

A. They teach them about different kinds of schools, they ask workers to build a new school, they do different stuff and they might say hello.
