This week is Catholic Schools Week, an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States.
The 2016 theme is “Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.”
Central celebrated with a mass Feb. 2 and will continue with themed dress down days, visits to Diocesan grade schools and a pep rally Feb. 5.
A few weeks ago the “Viking Store,” which existed in the early 1990s, made a triumphant return. It is a school store where students can purchase quick snacks, school supplies and Central Catholic High School apparel.
Students and their parents are already looking toward the next school year; course selections will take place over the next few weeks.
There is a parent course selection meeting scheduled 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 4. The students will have their course selection meetings during the school day Feb. 9. The meetings will cover graduation requirements, course expectations and the necessary prerequisites.
