The youth group of St. John’s United Church of Christ, 1415 Rising Sun Road, Laurys Station, is hosting a pancake brunch 11:30 a.m. Feb. 7.

Menu includes blueberry, chocolate chip, and plain pancakes with a variety of toppings such as whipped, fruit or syrup.

Sausage links, fresh fruit and drinks will be available.

A free-will offering will be accepted to help fund a trip to the UCC denomination’s National Youth Event at Disney World in July.

Neffs United Church of Christ Pre-School will have an open house from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. Feb. 9.

Director Annette Wilcox reports the pre-school focuses not only on academics but on emotional and social skills.

“Staff use developmentally appropriate teaching strategies to help children learn through play and active movement,” says Wilcox.

Teachers have received training for aligning curriculum and lessons with Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards.
