Elsie K. Balliet, 96, formerly of Coplay, died Jan. 21, 2016, at Phoebe Home, Allentown. She was the wife of the late Sherwood “Dutch” B. Balliet Jr. for 45 years.

Born in Whitehall, she was a daughter of the late John and Julia (Duld) Yudt.

She was a postal clerk for Coplay Post Office. She was previously a sewing machine operator at several area garment mills.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Coplay.

She was a lifetime member of the Rose Croix and Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Coplay Senior Citizens.

She is survived by a son, Sherwood “Woody” B. III and his wife Patty of Whitehall; a daughter, Lisa and her husband Joseph Taschner Jr. of Northampton; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Bonnie L. Schrampf; a grandson, Raymond B. Schrampf; four brothers; and four sisters.
