Egg hunt March 19

At the Jan. 18 Salisbury Recreation Advisory Committee meeting, members set the date for the annual community Easter egg hunt 10 a.m. March 19 at Lindberg Park. More information will be sent home with the elementary school students closer to the event and will be listed in The Press.

All members of the committee were present with the exception of Antonella DiMatteo who is working out of town.

The meeting was also a reorganization meeting where Mark Wilson was named chairman, Frank Adamcik named vice chairman and Pat Jacoby named secretary.

In committee reports, Adamcik noted missing rails had been replaced at Franko Farm Park and the gazebo has been repaired.

Frank McCullough reported the shed has been installed at Lindberg Park and it is “beautiful.” Nothing can be placed in the shed until it is approved by a representative of the Public Works department.

Both McCullough and Wilson noted residents are seen running and walking on the new trail at Lindberg Park. The residents seem to enjoy it.

It was also reported the new bicycle rack is at Green Acres Park.

Outstanding projects including the fencing at Lindberg and the shed at Devonshire Park. The committee will do followup.

Staff member Genny Baillie reported she will be placing an ad for summer counselors in February. The minimum age to be a summer counselor is 16.

The next regular meeting for the committee is 7:30 p.m. March 21 at the municipal building. All meetings are open to the public.
