Allentown AARP Chapter #5415 will meet noon at St. Timothy’s Church, 140 S. Ott St., Allentown. Mary Bach, consumer advocate from State AARP will present a program. The 10th Annual SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival throughout Emmaus 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Events will take place at the Emmaus Triangle, Emmaus Community Center for the Arts (second floor of borough hall), Emmaus Public Library, downtown stores and restaurants. The event will include ice sculpting, the SnowBlast Ice Princess, artist demonstrations, community art project, SnowBlast art show and sale, musical performances, outdoor activities, fire pits and more. ‘Winter Wonderland’ at the Emmaus Historical Society museum, 563 Chestnut St., Emmaus, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum will be “snowed in” during SnowBlast Winter Arts Festival. See winter scenes in Emmaus dating back to the Great Blizzard of 1888. Hot chocolate and cookies will be served.

Annual Shrove Tuesday pancake supper will be held 5 to 7 p.m. in the fellowship hall at Concordia Lutheran Church, 2623 Brookside Road, Macungie. The program, presented by members of The Bonsai Society of the Lehigh Valley, will introduce bonsai, the culture of trees miniaturized and living in pots. Emmaus Historical Society meeting 7 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church Parish Hall, 501 Chestnut St., Emmaus. Topic of the meeting is “The Emaus Band Goes to War-1861.” In September 1861, the Emaus Band marched to Doylestown and enlisted in the 104th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, also known as the “Ringgold Regiment.” It served as the regiment’s military band during the Peninsula Campaign. Bill Barto will cover the early history of the Emaus Band, the 104th Pennsylvania Infantry Regiment, the band instruments and military band music of the Civil War era.
