Weisenberg Twp. board reorganizes for new year

Weisenberg supervisors, at their Jan. 4 reorganization meeting, selected Robert Milot to be their chairman with Linda Gorgas as vice chairperson.

Milot also will be representing the township on the Northern Lehigh Planning Committee with Gorgas as alternate.

Gorgas will also be the voting delegate at the annual Pennsylvania State Association of Township Officials convention.

Anthony Werley was named roadmaster with James Werley serving as assistant roadmaster.

Anthony Werley will be responsible for issuance of driveway permits.

Supervisors’ meetings will continue to be 7 p.m. on the second Monday of each month.

Brian Carl was appointed secretary with Janet Henritzy as assistant secretary. He was also appointed township zoning enforcement officer, with Keystone Consulting Engineers as alternate.

Keystone was also named health officer.

Carl was also appointed as vacancy board chairman and as township representative to the Lehigh Valley Insurance Co-op Board and as the township’s open records officer.

He also will be township representative to the earned income tax collection committee, with Jeff Strauss as alternate. Strauss will also serve as township treasurer.

Keystone will also serve as township engineer.

The firm of Norris, McLaughlin and Marcus, PA will serve as township solicitor.

New Tripoli Bank will be entrusted with the township funds.

Employee benefits and wages were set for the year. Paid holidays will be New Year’s Day, Presidents Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, a half-day for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and a half-day for New Year’s Eve.

Richard Bleiler was reappointed to the township planning commission while Thomas Narkin was reappointed to the zoning hearing board.

Dennis Trexler will serve on the Uniform Construction Code Appeals Board.

Gorgas will be supervisor member on the Northwestern Recreation Commission.

Chris Noll of Keystone Engineers will be the township’s sewage enforcement officer with Carl Wolfe Jr. and Brian Carl as alternates.

Barry Isett and Associates will be doing the residential, commercial and industrial construction building inspections.

H.A. Berkheimer, Inc. will serve as earned income tax collector.
