Red Cross hosts card-sorting party for local heroes

The American Red Cross Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter hosted a Holiday Mail for Heroes card-sorting party recently at its headquarters in Cetronia.

Holiday Mail for Heroes is an annual campaign in which the Red Cross provides the community with the opportunity to send messages of thanks and holiday cheer to military members, veterans and their families.

Peter Brown, executive director of the American Red Cross Greater Lehigh Valley Chapter spoke with The Press at the party.

“Cards are sorted and distributed by local Red Cross volunteers,” Brown said. “The cards will be distributed to local veterans, active duty military and first responders.”

The Red Cross is thankful for all the organizations which donated cards including the Parkland High School Red Cross Club, local schools, companies, Scouting groups and churches, Brown said.
