Orefield woman interviewed by police
Upper Macungie police continue to investigate a hit-and-run crash which occurred around 5:35 p.m. Jan. 8 along Tilghman Street involving a Honda Accord and a pedestrian.
Police say Emma L. Godfrey, 25, of Orefield, came to the police department to be interviewed Jan. 12 after her attorney contacted police the day before.
According to police, Thomas J. Diehl, 59, of Allentown, was crossing Tilghman Street from the Lehigh Motor Inn, 5828 Memorial Road to the Sunoco gas station, 5917 Tilghman St., when he was struck by a Honda traveling westbound on Tilghman Street, west of Blue Barn Road.
Godfrey allegedly told police on the night of the crash she was driving westbound on Tilghman Street when she hit an unknown object. Her 2007 Honda had damage consistent with parts found at the scene, police say.
Diehl was discharged Jan. 11, according to a spokesperson for Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township.
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact Officer Robert G. Djevharian, or a supervisor at 484-661-5911, ext. 351.
