Student of the Week

Q. What grade are you currently in?

A. I am a senior at Salisbury High School. Q. What is your favorite subject? Why? A. I love English because I enjoy reading different types of literature and being able to discuss their deeper meanings with my peers.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. I am part of National Honor Society, a National Merit commended student and have received three vocal merit scholarships from my music school.

Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?

A. I am part of Salisbury’s theatre department, a member of Star of the Day event productions, take private voice lessons at Community Music School Lehigh Valley, a member of Salisbury Debate A-team and captain of Salisbury Academic Team which competes in quiz bowls.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I plan to major in classical music and operatic studies at a university.

Q. What would you say your biggest challenge has been so far?

A. My biggest challenge so far has been balancing my schoolwork with theater all throughout high school but I have always made it work and found time to do everything I love.

Q. What do you want to be remembered for?

A. I want to be remembered for making a difference through music. Although people sometimes see music as a useless endeavor, I see it as making art that can truly affect a person through emotional connection.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My parents and my sister who is currently attending Pitt Med.

Q. Do you have someone you look up to?

A. I definitely look up to my voice teacher because she has been in my life for six years and we are very close. She has helped me so much with music as well as making the decision to study music in college. She always can make me feel better when I’m having a bad week just by making me laugh.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. I would advise my peers to do what makes them happy always.
