Residents enjoy breakfast; take tours of high school

Last year, Superintendent Dr. Randy Ziegenfuss and Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning Lynn Fuini-Hetten created an entry plan which included involving the community more in the school district.

The idea to host a community breakfast at the high school was launched and plans were made for the Dec. 5 event.

Over 300 members of the community registered to have breakfast, take tours of the recently renovated high school and meet school administrators and staff.

Volunteers included students, administrators, teachers and staff who did everything from setup to food preparation. They also provided tours of the high school, showing visitors the new classrooms, auditorium, television studio, counseling office, library and science rooms.

The breakfast was open to Salisbury families as well as employees of the district and the township.

Elementary students created place settings and table decorations and members of the middle school select chorus performed holiday music.

Ziegenfuss said he hopes to host other community events in the future, looking to make the schools the hub of the community.
