Ordinance to be drafted regarding truck restrictions

It was announced at the Dec. 3 meeting of the Lower Macungie Township Board of Commissioners a truck study has been completed for Creamery Road between Route 100 and Spring Creek Road.

An ordinance will be drafted by the solicitor restricting trucks in this area.

Reports were given on a number of ongoing projects in the township.

Schoeneck Road has seen some improvement with the building removed and new poles installed by PPL.

The Harvest Field pathway could be completed in a few weeks depending on the weather. If the weather forecast is not conducive to the completion of this project, it will be completed in the spring.

The Church Lane bridge project is finally progressing and should begin very soon.

The North Krocks Road construction is moving along, however, construction will not continue due to the upcoming winter season. Commissioner James Lancsek recommended marking the lanes more clearly as they are difficult to maneuver at night.

Bike paths have been installed along Sauerkraut Road. Hamilton Boulevard bike lanes are to be installed next.
