Board reorganizes; elects president and vice president

The Salisbury Township School District Board of School Directors met Dec. 2 for their reorganization meeting and welcomed new board members Susan Lea and Robert Kulp to the board following the Nov. 3 municipal election. Director George Gatanis was re-elected.

Director Mary Ziegler was named temporary president and turned the meeting over to school district solicitor John Freund III, a partner with King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul and chair of the firm’s Education Law Practice Group,

Lea, Kulp and George Gatanis took the oath of office administered by Freund.

Director Frank Frankenfield was elected president of the board and Director Sam DeFrank was elected vice president of the board.

In other business, the board set meeting dates for 2016. The board will meet Jan. 13, 2016; Feb. 10, 2016; March 16, 2016; April 13, 2016; May 18, 2016; June 15, 2016; July 13, 2016 (if needed); Aug. 17, 2016; Sept. 14, 2016; Oct. 19, 2016; Nov. 16, 2016; Dec. 7, 2016 (reorganization meeting) and Dec. 14, 2016.

The next school board meeting will be held 7 p.m. Dec. 16 in the administration building.
