Ai Orthodontics holds Funny Fall Faces Contest

The office of Dr. Aejaaz A. Issa, Ai Orthodontics, 550 Harrison St., Emmaus, held its annual Funny Fall Faces Contest to the delight of many.

Thirty-nine pumpkins were delivered to referring dentists’ offices with instructions to decorate a pumpkin which would ultimately be delivered to children who are patients at Lehigh Valley Health Network - Cedar Crest.

The decorated pumpkins were delivered back to Ai Orthodontics for judging by patients both on social media and in the office. In addition, the patients of the referring dentists could also vote via social media.

Additional judges were brought in to cast their votes including Linda Kasper, patient; Emma Ville, Seven Generations parent; Jen McGorry and Heather Ennis, Lehigh Valley Health Network; Jessica O’Donnell and Emily Gerber, Emmaus Main Street Program and Courtney Angle, American Diabetes Association. The contest was coordinated by Karen Hobson, community relations, Ai Orthodontics.

Right before Halloween, the pumpkins were taken by McGorry and Ennis to the hospital and delivered to younger patients.

Judging continued on social media until mid-November to give everyone ample time to vote for their favorites.

The judges’ winners were so close, a fourth place winner was also named.

First place: Dr. Timothy Wright’s office, Emmaus for “Bald Eagle.”

Second place: Dr. Nicole Miller’s office at ‘The Friendliest Dental Office in Town,’ Allentown for “Up, Up and Away.”

Third place: Dr. Navid Hadian’s office at Brookside Dental Care, Wescosville for “Peacock.”

Fourth place: Dr. Christopher Hill’s office, Allentown for “Pampguin.”

Facebook winners were also very close so a fourth place winner was named.

First place: Dr. Sophia Kladias’s office, Allentown for “Hermey the Elf.”

Second place: Dr. Mary Cresseveur-Reed’s office, Coopersburg for “Baymax.”

Third place: Dr. Chandan Chadha’s office Aspen Dental in Allentown for “Henry the Hedgehog.”

Fourth Place: Dr. Chuck Harding’s office at Extraordinary Smiles, Schnecksville for “Rock Troll.”

All winners received a prize from Dr. Issa along with thanks for participating.

However, no one would deny the real winners were the patients who received the creatively decorated pumpkins.
