Morgenland cooking up Breakfast with Santa
In preparation for Thanksgiving and the upcoming holiday season, Christ’s Church at Lowhill Food Pantry is accepting instant stuffing mix, boxed mashed potatoes, canned sweet potatoes, sauerkraut and gravy.
In addition to specialty items, the pantry always needs boxed cereal, canned tuna and chili, hearty soups, household cleaners, toilet paper, paper towels, napkins, dish soap, laundry detergent, tea bags, coffee and pet food.
New socks in child and adult sizes may be dropped off at both New Tripoli Bank locations and ESSA Bank for the Blessing Shop’s collection of new and newly new clothing in the basement of the food pantry.
The pantry will be accepting donations to stock shelves 9-11 a.m. Nov. 28.

Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield, is cooking up a pancake and sausage Breakfast with Santa 8-11 a.m. Dec. 12.
Morgenland will host its third annual National Wreaths Across America Remembrance Ceremony Dec. 12, with an opening ceremony in the church sanctuary at 11:30 a.m. followed by the wreath presentation in the cemetery at noon.

Join Christ’s Church at Lowhill, 4695 Lowhill Church Road, for The Wonder of Christmas, 3-6 p.m. Dec. 12.
An ice cream social will top off the night with sprinkles and Christmas spirit.

The event is open to families and features dinner, stories, games and crafts followed by a Christmas carol hymn sing and Lowhill Lights of Wonder, a 30-minute indoor light show featuring more than 10,000 lights synchronized to music.
Each show cycles approximately every 40 minutes 5:30-8:30 p.m. Dec. 11, 12, 19, 22 and from Dec. 26-29.
Dec. 11 and 19 shows will have a 20-minute hymn sing at 5 p.m.
Dec. 24 will feature showings at 6:45 p.m. and following Christmas Eve service.
Donations will benefit the Pediatric Cancer Foundation.

Lehigh Valley Zoo’s Winter Light Spectacular runs 5:30-10 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday until Jan. 3, 2016.
