warmth
for a friend
2015 marks the sixth year the Warmth for a Friend drive has reached out to the community to collect coats, sweaters, gloves, scarves and hats for those in need. Every year, organizers have been blessed by caring souls who have gifted an abundance of warmth to bring cheer and smiles to families from Allentown Rescue Mission and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church shelter and soup kitchen in Allentown.
Last year, Warmth for a Friend presented more than 400 children, women and men with needed winter items.
To donate to this cause, drop off items in specially marked containers until Dec. 20 at the following locations:
• Coplay Borough Office, 98 S. Fourth St.
• Coplay Public Library, 49 S. Fifth St.
• Coplay Post Office, 918 Chestnut St.
• Milander’s Meat Market, 301 Center St., Coplay
• The Bacon Strip, 18 N. Second St., Coplay
• St. John the Baptist Church, 3024 S. Ruch St., Whitehall
• St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 4 S. Fifth St., Coplay
On Dec. 25, organizers will distribute gifts during a holiday meal.
