St. Ann bingo party is a winner

The mission of The Women’s Alliance of St. Ann Catholic Church Emmaus, formerly St. Ann’s Women’s Club, is three pronged.

Under the guidance of Monsignor Mraz, the Alliance pursues opportunities for spiritual enlightenment, service to others and social fellowship. The group’s recently sponsored Bags and Bingo event effortlessly blends service and fellowship.

This year marks the 18th anniversary of this event. About 175 participants played for Longaberger items, Vera Bradley bags and select Coach purses. The admission fee included regular games, specials, dinner and homemade dessert.

Local businesses and interested individuals donated all of the prizes and food items. Members of other groups within the St. Ann community supported the event by donating time and talents. For example, Matt Starry of the Knights of Columbus served as the bingo caller.

All proceeds will be distributed throughout the local community by Helping Hands and Families in Need of St. Ann.

For more information on the Women’s Alliance, contact group president Sue Miner at 610-967-2140.

Ann Bertha, of Allentown, is the first winner of the evening.
