Q. What grade are you currently in?

A. I am in 12th grade at Salisbury High School.

Q. What is your favorite subject? Why?

A. Physics because I have always enjoyed math and logic– that’s just how my brain works. I naturally think in numbers and logic in whatever I do and physics does exactly that to study the world. Almost everything can be analyzed with a logical explanation and it amazes me that we can make sense of it all with numbers, equations and calculations.

Q. Have you received any special awards or recognition?

A. National Honor Society, National Merit® Scholarship Program Commended Student and a first place award in marketing at the Future Business Leaders of America regional competition last year.

Q. What extracurricular activities are you involved in, both in and out of school?

A. I am most involved in community service activities and religious activities. In school, I am the president of the Key Club, which engages with local and national organizations to make a difference in the community. I also peer tutor students in calculus and physics. Outside of school, I am active in the youth program at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown, where I participate in mission trips, sing in the youth choir and attend a weekly small group for Bible study.

Q. What is your next goal after high school?

A. I plan to attend either the University of Pennsylvania or Lafayette College and study engineering with a mix of business. I like engineering because it is a practical way to solve the world’s problems, which is what I want to do in the future.

Q. What would you say your biggest challenge was so far?

A. Realizing that I only have so much time in my life and I cannot commit to everything. I find it difficult to decline an opportunity, so I take on more than I can handle. It is a challenge for me to prioritize what is important.

Q. What do you want to be remembered for?

A. I want to be remembered for being generous and giving back more than I have been given.

Q. Who is in your family?

A. My parents are Cathy and Scott, who support everything I do. I am a triplet, so I have two brothers in 12th grade named Matthew and Joseph. My sister Meghan is in 10th grade.

Q. Do you have someone you look up to?

A. Other than persistence, enthusiasm is an essential characteristic to being a friendly person. My dad has always been enthusiastic, from yelling “encore, encore!” at music performances to loudly cheering for me at cross country meets, and enthusiasm is a great quality to have in order to live a positive life.

Q. Do you have any advice for your peers?

A. Everyone is going to like different things in life. Whatever you like to do, pursue it with persistence. Find what your passion is and do not stop following it until you find a way to make it a part of your life so that you will always be happy with what you are doing – that is success.
