Voters pick 5 for seats on school board

Of the six candidates on the Nov. 3 ballot for the five open seats on the Northwestern Lehigh School Board, Willard Dellicker, Joseph Fatzinger, Todd Leiser and John Casciano, who all cross-filed; and Charlene D. Rauscher, who ran on the Republican side of the ballot; will be taking their places at the table, according to unofficial Lehigh County voter registration results.

Gregory J. Laub, who ran on the Democrat ticket, came in sixth place on Tuesday.

The unofficial tally shows Dellicker receiving 2,137 votes, Fatzinger, 2.096; Leiser, 2,090; Casciano, 1,990; Rauscher, 1,757; and Laub, 1,345.

Fatzinger, who has two sons in Northwestern schools, is a 1989 graduate of the district.

He served as the Northwestern JV baseball coach for 12 years and Northwestern Junior High football coach for two years. He served as Northwestern Youth Athletic Association baseball director and vice president of the NYAA board.

Dellicker, the father of three Northwestern graduates, has five grandchildren in the middle school.

He is an NWL school director and treasurer, is on the Lehigh Career and Technical Institute Board and is a Lehigh Carbon Community College trustee.

Rauscher, an attorney, has served on the NWLSD Strategic Planning Committee, NWL Middle School PTO, NWLSD Public Safety Committee, Northwestern Elementary PIE, and NYAA board.

She has two children in NWL schools. Frank Jr. is in ninth grade and Matthew is in eighth grade.

Casciano is the father of two children attending Weisenberg Elementary and Northwestern Middle School.

He recently retired from the Pa. State Police with 25 years as a trooper.

He is employed by the Northampton County District Attorney’s Office as a detective.

Leiser, the father of two in Northwestern Lehigh middle and high schools, is a 1987 NWL graduate.

He has been president of NYAA for the last six years.
