The annual oyster supper at Jacob’s Church, Jacksonville, Lynn Township, will be 4-7 p.m. Nov. 7.

Menu includes oysters fried and in stew and pie, plus fresh cut fries. Fried shrimp platters will be available. There will also be desserts including lemon strip and coconut pies.

Kempton Community Center, 82 Pine Creek Road, Kempton, is offering three relatively painless opportunities to help out and make new friends.

• Nov. 7 at 8 a.m.: Winterizing things mostly. Drain water pipes, put picnic tables away, trim trees, pick up litter, power-wash outside bathrooms and trash cans, and more.

• Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.: Kempton Spring Sale Committee meeting. Help plan for the 2016 event.

• Nov. 12 at 7 p.m.: Buildings and Grounds Committee. Lots of planning for an exciting future.
