Township, churches having Halloween events for children

Upper Macungie will have Trick or Treat Night 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30.

The township, in partnership with Gravity Art Lab, is hosting an adult painting class 6:30 p.m. Nov. 6.

Light refreshments and appetizers will be served.

Pa. Game Commission and the township are offering a free hunter and trapper education course 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 8.

Psychic medium Lauri Moore will give readings 7-8:30 p.m. Nov. 12.

The painting class, psychic event and the hunter course will all be at Independent Park Community Center, 150 Independent Road, Breingsville.

Ziegels Union Church, 9990 Ziegels Church Road, Breinigsville, will have its annual trunk or treat 6-8 p.m. Oct. 31 in the parking lot.

The church’s second annual one-stop holiday shop, featuring more than 15 local vendors will be 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 7.

A basket party fundraiser will also take place with proceeds helping families who use Lehigh Valley Hospital NICU.

St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1028 Church St., Fogelsville, will have a Halloween hot dog stand in front of Strohl’s Automotive on Main Street, Fogelsville, during Trick or Treat Night 6-8 p.m. Oct. 30.

The church’s annual chicken and waffle dinner, sponsored by the choir, will be 4-7:30 p.m. Nov. 7.

St. John’s United Church of Christ, Fogelsville, Busy Bees is accepting hoagie orders until Nov. 8. Pickup on Nov. 18.

There is a choice of ham or Italian.

Parkland Community Library, 4422 Walbert Ave., South Whitehall Township, will be having toddler story time with stories, songs and games for children 18 months to 3 years and their caregivers 10:30-11 a.m. Oct. 29 and Nov. 4, 5 and 11.

Drop-In story time with stories, songs and games for young children and their caregivers will be 10:30-11 a.m. Oct. 30 and Nov. 6.

Technical Tuesday for seniors is scheduled for 3-4 p.m. Nov. 3 at Luther Crest Retirement Community, 800 Hausman Road, South Whitehall.

Learn how to download favorite e-books, e-magazines, e-audiobooks and digital music.

Teen game night for students in grades seven to 12 is planned for 7 p.m. Nov. 3 at the library.

Enjoy snacks and play games with other teens.

Preschool story time for children ages 3 to 5 will take place 1 p.m. Nov. 4, 5 and 11.

Join library staff for National Book Lover’s Day beginning with story time with elephant and piggy stories at 10:30 a.m.

Come at 1 p.m. and show off your demigod skills before finishing the day watching the children’s classic “Charlotte’s Web” at 3 p.m. Nov. 7.

The library and Walgreen’s Pharmacy are hosting a flu clinic at a reduced rate from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 9.
