Lower macungie library news

Throughout November, Lower Macungie Library will feature the artwork of Michael Bossons. Bossons lived in the southwest for over 25 years which has influenced his art. Most of his work conveys the theme of man in nature.

The Lower Macungie Library book club will meet 10:30 a.m. Nov. 4 to discuss “A Prayer for Owen Meaney” by John Irving. The next book club meeting is Dec. 2.

Creation Station is in the children’s area of the library and offers supplies for a special craft or activity as well as books with ideas to support the monthly theme. The next Creation Station is 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 14. Messy Mondays is a new family story time and craft program offered this fall. Storytime is designed for the preschool skill level but the activities are designed for the whole family to work together. The next program is 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. Nov. 2.

There will be a Rookie Readers program for students in kindergarten through second grade 6:30 p.m. Nov. 9. There will be stories, literacy games, writing activities and more. The next date is Dec. 14.

Library League for grades three to five meets 6:30 p.m. Nov. 16 for a story and hands on exploration. The next date is Dec. 21.

The library will celebrate the eighth annual international games day Nov. 21. There will be bingo, a life-size Candy Land game, a supersized Scrabble board game and more. There will also be light refreshments and prizes.

Storytimes are offered for all preschool ages. Check the library for the schedule.

Adult computer classes including Microsoft Word, Excel, Intro to the Web and social networking are offered monthly. The schedule is available at the library. Class size is limited and sign-up is required for some events.
