Dr. Barry P. Smoyer, 73, of Allentown, formerly of Emmaus, died Oct. 24, 2015. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Donald A. and Hilda M. (Kelly) Smoyer.

He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree, master’s and doctorate from Pennsylvania State University where he was a professor of physics and chemistry.

He is survived by a brother, Dr. Ronald L. and his wife Charlotte; sister, Sharon R. and her husband Gregory Searfoss; close family friends, Dr. Meena Totlani, Dr. Rajender S. Totlani and their daughters Anita and Reema; and their grandmother, Mohini Kochhar.

Services will be held noon Oct. 29 in the Tuscan room at the Bachman, Kulik & Reinsmith Funeral Home, 17th & Hamilton streets., Allentown. A calling period will be 11:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 29.
