Upper Lehigh Lions Club will host a basket social Oct. 27, at the Schnecksville Fire Co.

Doors open 5:30 p.m. Drawing begins 7 p.m.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase, and there will be a 50/50 drawing.

Union Lutheran Church, Schnecksville, will have a basket party 5-8 p.m. Oct. 30, and from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Oct. 31, in the Family Life Center.

The kitchen will be open with a menu including soup, sandwiches and desserts.

Quarts of soup may be ordered in advance. Choices are chicken noodle, ham and bean, and cream of potato.

Come in costume for a chance to win the big basket. You need not be present to win.

Union United Church of Christ, Neffs, and Union Lutheran, Schnecksville, invite children to Trunk or Treat 3-5 p.m. Oct. 24.

This is a free, family event offering a chance for children to go trick-or-treating in a safe environment.

Participants can wear their Halloween costumes and receive treats at decorated vehicles from costumed owners on each church parking lot.

They can walk through the cemetery from one church to another.

There will be an opportunity to vote on the best decorated and the most creative vehicles.

Both churches will have food for everyone.

This event is getting bigger every year.

Last year, the Neffs fire truck even made an appearance at the Lutheran church.

Union UCC is having a food drive that day. Bring canned goods for the food bank and receive a special treat.
